It’s pretty obvious that the Nationals are the favorites to win the NL East. They are loaded from top to bottom. But the season must be played, and the Mets have constructed a pretty good roster with a lot of home grown talent. It’s easy to come up with a lengthy list of reasons why the Washington Nationals will succeed. From top to bottom they have a loaded roster, and they are more than the clear cut favorites in the NL East. It would be shocking if they did not run away with the division. But this team is not built to win the division. It’s World Series or bust. But it won’t be that easy, as the following five issues could derail their hopes of a world championship.
As the 2015 season is right around the corner, take a look at the best players at each position in the National League East. For some positions it’s clear who the starter is, and who takes the reserve spot. But for some positions it’s a close call between the top two players, and in a few positions there are three or more players who are worthy of this honor, but somebody has to be left out.
