Jason Douglas Lewis is the Publisher of The Los Angeles Standard Newspaper (www.lastandardnewspaper.com).  He was born and raised in Los Angeles, where he attended Fairfax High School before becoming a track athlete at UCLA.  While at Fairfax, Lewis won the CIF Los Angeles City Section Championship in the 300-meter hurdles in 1995, and competed in the CIF State Championship Finals meet in both the hurdles and 4x400-meter relay. 

While at UCLA Lewis majored in art, and during his junior year, he began to work as a photographer with his older brother Jeff Lewis.  Lewis continued to work as a photographer after college, and decided to pursue a career as a sports writer as well.  He was hired as the Sports Editor at Our Weekly (www.ourweekly.com) in 2006, and moved on to the Los Angeles Sentinel (www.lasentinel.net).  After working in general news for two years as a staff writer and staff photographer, Lewis was promoted to the position of Sports Editor.  He wrote the bulk of the sports articles and provided most of the photographs for the section.  While at the Sentinel he was also the webmaster, using various content management systems to maintain the Sentinel\'s website.

In 2013, Lewis left the Sentinel to become a Feature Writer at The ATLX Channel (www.atlxtv.com), which is a fitness network.  A year later he moved on to FOX Sports (www.foxsports.com) as a Digital Content Producer.

In 2016, Lewis created The Los Angeles Standard Newspaper, which is distributed in Leimert Park, Baldwin Hills, View Park-Windsor Hills, Ladera Heights, Park Mesa Heights, Jefferson Park, West Adams, and Mid City.  Lewis manages all aspects of the publication, which includes writing, photography, layout design, website management, social media, distribution, marketing, and sales. 

Lewis is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African-American men.  He has held various positions, including Chapter President, within Beta Psi Lambda Chapter, which is the fraternity\\\'s alumni chapter in Los Angeles. www.betapsilambda.org
